Michelle George has been a Registered Nurse for 33 years. She began her career in high school and has worked in various areas of patient care, including Communicable Disease Prevention, HIV, and Tuberculosis Prevention. Michelle holds a Master of Science in Community Health Nursing from Wayne State University. She has received numerous awards, including the Dr. Martin Luther King Dream Keeper Award and the Tenet Hero Award. She is a member of the Detroit Black Nurses Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Damon J. Keith Center of Civil Rights Action Lab, and the National Action Network. Currently, she works as an Infection Preventionist in a Level One Trauma Center, focusing on reducing hospital-acquired infections and conducting staff education. Michelle is driven by faith and believes in the role of nurses in influencing healthcare policy.
